Plastic surgeon · Dubai · now booking
The UAE's only surgeon with two licenses. And that changes the result.
Michael Maier, MD, PhD, is a plastic surgeon practising in Dubai (Gargash Hospital) and Moscow. He holds two licenses — in plastic and in maxillofacial surgery — which, for facial surgery, means a deeper understanding of anatomy and more clinical experience specifically with complex cases.

Dubai has for several years been one of the hubs of medical tourism in plastic surgery: modern hospitals, international anaesthesia standards, yet often lower prices than in Europe or the US. For Russian-speaking patients there's an added advantage — a doctor who explains everything in their native language, with no translation barrier on matters where every detail counts.
Dr. Maier's core specialty is complex facial surgery: Deep Plane Facelift (a deep lift without the “pulled” look), eyelid blepharoplasty, endoscopic upper face and brow lift, rhinoplasty including revision cases, and neck lift with platysmaplasty. A separate focus is breast surgery and body contouring, including revision after previous surgery by other doctors.
Patients often come to Dr. Maier specifically with complex cases: asymmetries, unsuccessful results from surgery at other clinics, cases where several procedures need to be combined for a cohesive result. This comes from the experience his second license provides — maxillofacial surgery trains a surgeon to work with the deep structures of the face, bone and muscle, not just the skin.
The process is simple and transparent: the first consultation is a video call, 15 minutes, free of charge. During it the doctor reviews your photos or video, asks what you'd like to change, and tells you honestly what can be done, which procedure is appropriate, and what it will cost — right away, not “come in for an appointment and we'll discuss it”. If surgery isn't needed, the doctor will say so.
Once you've decided, the next step is an in-person appointment in Dubai: examination, the final plan, the exact price, and a surgery date. The surgery itself takes place at Gargash Hospital with full anaesthesiology support. After surgery, the doctor personally guides the patient through recovery — follow-up exams, ongoing support in the chat, and answers to every question until the final result.

Common questions
It's a get-to-know-you conversation: you describe what you'd like to change, and the doctor tells you what's realistically possible and what it costs. There's nothing to buy at this step.
No, the first consultation is by video call. A trip to Dubai is only needed for the in-person exam before surgery and for the surgery itself.
Complex facial surgery: facelifts (including Deep Plane), blepharoplasty, rhinoplasty, neck lift — as well as breast surgery and body contouring.
Yes — correcting results from other surgeons is a significant part of Dr. Maier's practice, thanks to his experience in maxillofacial surgery.
